A tourist “parking tax” is being planned for a Devon town, dubbed Chelsea-on-Sea, which is popular with holidaymakers for its beaches. Businesses in Salcombe warned the proposal to charge tourists more than locals to park in their town, and across the district of South Hams, could be “detrimental” to the area’s economy.
